Share of Mind is one of the newest additions to the Bangkok scene (only a month old) and is already making waves. The relatively small bar actually has a lot to offer. Share of Mind is truly a jack of all trades. Read on….
Share of Mind is trendy and very hip. The 1st floor is a restaurant and a small bar area with a rockin Thai band. Classic. The food is the usual Thai fare with some creative tweaks on classic dishes and a nice presentation. Plates are about 220baht. The signature dish is a breaded fried pork cutlet with a “special sauce” that is more sweet than tangy. This dish along with the signature cocktail appropriately named “Share of Mind” creates a nice combo of happiness in your mouth. The drinks are strong and the bartenders do give their own twists with “Sex on a Chair” and “Blow job”. Does drinking a “Blow Job” while eating a “special” sweet and tangy sauce seem kinda weird?
Don’t be afraid to buy a beer for 150baht as the size matches the price. Beer aficionados will appreciate the robust range of international beers on draft.
The crowd is upper class Thais from local universities and office buildings. Everyone is dressed well and is in a good mood. It’s a good vibe here; well…except for the cat that seems to run the place. She’s a witch reincarnated. We never knew animals could be so mean.
The 2nd floor has an outdoor area for dinner, drinks or just chillin as well as an indoor “VIP” style bar. The music is lower up here and creates a good conversation atmosphere. In other words, the VIP area is an environment that is highly conducive to spittin game.
When the band takes a much deserved break the music is very Bruno Mars, literally playing “I wanna be a Millionaire” and all subsequent songs were of the same upbeat genre. Share of Mind even has a TV on the first floor showing the latest football/soccer matches. This place really is a jack of all trades offering something for everyone; it really is a “Share(ing) of (the) Mind(s)”. Ahhhh…You ask a bunch of people what they want in a bar and then….Got it!
Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays are packed so plan accordingly and have fun.
